How do I do my work?
I approach each individual with a clinical eye, thoughtful methodology, and a calm, accepting demeanor. I recognize that clients who have struggled need more than just another strategy or new method. My work emphasizes connection and rapport along with well-developed and highly structured lessons. I am committed to utilizing research and evidence-based practice in working with my clients, and their families, while also remaining flexible and creative in my approach.
What makes my approach different?
I would describe my approach as using all the resources that are in my toolbox, while thinking out of the box. While I have explicit training and experience in a number of specific interventions, I have seen the invaluable benefits of modifying these methods to appeal to a client’s interests and engaging them in learning in new and innovative ways. My commitment to applying multi-modal and multi-sensory methods has allowed me to engage clients and their families in any learning environment or pursuit. Additionally, my approach has allowed me to integrate interventions such as mindfulness meditation, somatic exercises, sensory engagement, and grounding techniques to help individuals best navigate their academic and professional experiences.
How do I Collaborate with the team?
In addition to my experience with individual students, I have worked with countless families in understanding their child’s struggles and in navigating the bureaucracy of accessing the resources their children need. I offer support, both practical and emotional, as well as guidance, in finding the right interventions, and obtaining the services necessary to help individuals find their best way to learn.
